A message from David's father, Scott.
First, I can't thank you enough for your support and for signing David's petition. As it stands, we now have over 36,000 signers and we are ready to move into our next phase of action. You have NO idea what your signatures and comments of encouragement have meant to me personally over the past few months. In a perfect world, I would respond to each one of you. So thank you and God bless you!
On Wednesday, April 27th, my letter to Attorney General, Keith Ellison, will be delivered to his office, formally requesting that he work with Governor Walz to appoint an independent prosecutor and investigative team to David's case. I will make this an open and public letter that will be shared on the same day, via Facebook, Instagram and David's webpage. If you feel led, I ask that you share this letter with your friends and family.
If Attorney General Ellison and Governor Walz are not willing to help our family, given the obvious misconduct by several agencies, then we will move into phase II. This will be an aggressive campaign to hold accountable every agency who has participated in the cover up of David's death. The details on how we will accomplish this will be laid out on another occasion.
This past week I was completely blown away by someones generosity. My wife and I received an unsolicited check for $10,000 from someone who wants to support Truth & Justice for David, but wants to remain anonymous! Wow! If we are forced to move into Phase II, these funds will much be needed. So thank you to this very generous giver!
Remember what I said in my first comments on this tragic case of my son, "Nothing happens unless we take action." No doubt your support is first and foremost for David and our family, but I believe David's case goes way beyond our family and is a call to society to stand up against another case of police and prosecutorial misconduct in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
This is our real life "David vs Goliath" story. Please continue to follow, forward and support our cause for David. Together we can make this happen for him and for our family! Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Scott A. Elmquist
Praying for you each step of the way!
